I’m a PhD Candidate in archaeology, and I love all things old, manual & analog.

I’m always wanting to learn more about how to make things – from binding books over making ink to creating my own lace!

Studying archaeology has allowed me to travel a lot and think deeply about practices across time & space. It taught me that communities throughout time were creative and playful, and I want to retain and spread the joy of doing something practical with your hands in a time when digital content seems overwhelming – yet, as this blog shows, it can be a great place to share knowledge & joy.
